As a senior at the University of Georgia majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders, Sophia is preparing for a future dedicated to helping children and families through the field of audiology. With certificates in Disability Studies and Learning, Design, and Technology, she is committed to combining research, innovation, and compassion to create meaningful change for individuals with disabilities. Sophia’s passion for advocacy is deeply personal. After enduring 20 major reconstructions and learning the power of communication through her own lived experiences, she has turned her journey into a mission of service. Through her Community Service Initiative, AccessAbility: Disability Advocacy in Education, Sophia works to promote inclusive classrooms, accessible learning environments, and equal opportunities for students of all abilities. As the Founder and Executive Director of AccessAbility 501(c)(3), she is not only raising awareness — she is building solutions. Her impact reaches far beyond the stage. Sophia has formed a global partnership with Smile Train, served as a National ELSA Act Legislative Advocate, worked as a Legislative Liaison for AHA and Rio’s Law, and championed thousands of dollars for organizations including LaunchAbility and Brightside Forever Foundation. She is also the architect of the UGA and Miss Georgia Scholarship Partnership, a UGA Student Senator, an Accessibility Ambassador, an 8-time UGA President’s and Dean’s List Scholar, and a published children’s book author. A talented Broadway musical vocalist, Sophia brings the same passion and discipline to the stage that she brings to her advocacy, academics, and leadership. Whether performing “Maybe This Time” from Cabaret, speaking on behalf of students with disabilities, or using social media to reach more than one million people, Sophia leads with authenticity, resilience, and heart. Through the Miss America Opportunity, Sophia continues to prove that true strength is not defined by perfection, but by purpose. Her journey represents the power of turning personal challenges into public service, and her mission reminds us that accessibility is not an exception; it is a standard every student deserves.

22 Oct. 2026 Weekly Lunch Meeting - Lou Koon Oct. 22, 2026 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. Chaplain Ken Koon, or “Lou” as he is known by some, has served as a hospital, fire, law enforcement and military chaplain. He is currently Crisis Intervention Chaplain for the Peachtree City, GA Police Department and the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, and a trainer for First Responder CIT Training in service to the Georgia Public Safety Training Center. In 2012, he founded Armed Forces Mission (now known as Stop Suicide USA) to provide rapid-response intervention to veterans, first responders and community members at risk of suicide. Ken has conducted more than 2,200 successful suicide interventions in both military and civilian communities. He has served on the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health Strategic Committee, helping to draft the 2020-2025 State Suicide Prevention Plan. He is currently a consultant to the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health for the Safe and Secure Project. Ken and his wife Sherry have four grown sons, two of whom are active duty with the US Air Force. Another is a veteran of the US Coast Guard and the youngest is a firefighter/EMT with the Atlanta Fire Department. They have seven grandchildren and make their home in Sharpsburg, GA.

16 Nov. 2026 Rotary Business & Industry Tour: Gerresheimer Nov. 16, 2026 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Join us for a special visit to Gerresheimer, a global manufacturer of medical devices and drug delivery systems with a growing presence right here in Peachtree City! Gerresheimer manufactures specialized medical products, including components for inhalers, injection devices, infusion systems, and diagnostic equipment. During our visit to the company's new facility on Naeco Way, Rotarians will learn about Gerresheimer's operations, its advanced manufacturing processes, and the important role the Peachtree City facility plays in the healthcare industry. We'll also have the opportunity to view the production floor from a specially designed visitor mezzanine, offering a unique perspective on medical device manufacturing. Please note: Because these products are manufactured in highly controlled clean-room environments, visitors cannot enter the actual production areas. However, the mezzanine provides an excellent opportunity to observe operations through viewing windows. Group size: Minimum of 6 and no more than 15 total participants. Age Requirements: The minimum age for volunteering is 14 years old if accompanied by an adult. The minimum age for volunteering without adult supervision is 16 years. Physical Requirements: Comfortable being on your feet for extended period of time and capable of moving and carrying.

06 Dec. 2026 Callaway Gardens' Fantasy in Lights Dec. 06, 2026 3:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Let's celebrate the Christmas season with a little holiday magic and some great Rotary fellowship! On Sunday, December 6, we're planning a festive group outing to Callaway Gardens' Fantasy in Lights, and I hope you'll join us! Spouses and family members are welcome, too! We've arranged for a charter bus to take us from Peachtree City to Callaway Gardens, so you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the company of fellow Rotarians and their families without worrying about the drive. Beverages will be provided on the bus to help get us into the holiday spirit! Here's the plan: Charter Bus: We'll depart together from Peachtree City. Departure time and location will be announced. Dinner: Upon arrival, we'll enjoy dinner together at the Piedmont Dining Room. Dinner will be Dutch treat (everyone pays for their own meal). Fantasy in Lights: After dinner, we'll board Callaway's festive trolleys for a magical tour through millions of twinkling Christmas lights and spectacular holiday displays. Return Trip: Following the light tour, we'll board our charter bus and head back to Peachtree City. Cost: $60 per person, which includes round-trip charter bus transportation and admission to the Fantasy in Lights trolley tour. Dinner is additional. 🎄 RSVP DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 1! We need to purchase our group tickets as soon as possible to secure our spots and preferred tour time. If you'd like to join us, please RSVP by November 1 and include the number of family members or guests attending with you. Early RSVPs are greatly appreciated!
